This website is a way to show my creativity to others through my pictures. I plan to keep adding to my website during and after my photography course. My website will be updated every week with more exciting pictures.
Course Proposal
1. Description - tell me a bit about what you would like to explore this year. Do you have a theme(s) that you're gravitating towards?
I like the fairy tale style pictures. I like the happy, kid, colorful pictures and I would like to try and carry that throughout my photos. I also want to be able to take photos that make the person looking at them feel something whether it makes them happy, sad, etc.…
2. What are your learning goals - what would you like to be able to do by the end of the year? How do you plan to stay on top of your assignments and dig deep into your subject matter? How can we work together to support your learning goals and stay motivated throughout the year?
I want to be able to show strong emotion and show a story in my pictures. I plan to work on ideas in my note book/ sketch book on how I can come through with emotion or story. I can show the picture to family and friends and get their opinion on how the feeling of the picture. I can also talk to friends and family about ideas on how to make that come through in my photos.
3.Have you looked at the BC curriculum learning outcomes are you responsible for? How do you plan on demonstrating them?
I can keep looking over and referring to the learning outcomes throughout the course of the year to make sure I am meeting/exceeding the outcomes.
4.What did you learn last year and what are your areas of strength and weakness? How do you hope to improve your skills and what do have you learned about yourself by asking these questions?
Last year we were showed the camera functions like shutter speed, ISO, and aperture. We were also showed how to use basic Photoshop like how to lighten or darken the photo, how to layer images, how to change the color, etc.… I know that I will need to review the camera functions and because last year was the first time I used Photoshop I know I’m going to have to go over what I know what to do and what I remember. I want to be really familiar with Photoshop.
5. How do you plan to structure your course? How long will you need to finish your assignments and what will you do with class time?
I plan to work out the projects in my note book/ sketch book and then start so I already have a plan. I know from last year some projects took longer and not all of my assignments were posted on the due date but were finished by the end of the term and I had all my projects at the end of the year completed. I work in class usually editing because I like to take cameras out over the weekend and edit in class because I don’t have Photoshop at home.
6.Have you considered breaking through the 2D limitations of photography? Are you planning to print and construct art based projects using photography?
I have never thought of this before. I think it would be cool to do that as a project with more structure around the concept.
7.Provide a breakdown of the units/projects you plan on exploring
After going through the projects and weekly challenges, the ones I want to do the most are…
